It was the first week of my freshman year at Georgetown, and I was sitting in a stiflingly stuffy room for my physics class. About ten minutes into a lecture by a professor who looked like he came straight out of a Far Side cartoon, a cool guy (obviously, not a freshman) sauntered into the room. He was holding a foam cup that held a thick, rich, cold shake. And all through the long, hot, boring class, I sat, watching the guy drink this shake. After class, a cute blond boy (very obviously a fellow freshman) asked whether I had noticed the cool milkshake guy, and would I want to join him in a quest to find the source or icy liquid? I said yes, and from then on, Matthew Kamins and I have been the best of buddies. Who knew a chocolate milkshake would be the beginning of a beautiful friendship?
